For this week's assignment I chose to focus on three sports stories to comment on. Tiger Woods spitting, Rajon Rondo, trying to listen in on the Heat Sunday, and Albert Pujols not getting a new contract.
The one that brought up the most controversy was the Tiger Woods story. People all over ESPN ripped the guy for spitting on the 12th green in last weeks tournament in Dubai. Tiger Woods Spits. My comments backed Tiger up saying that the man has a tremendous amount of pressure on him and that the world needs to lay off of him a bit, this caused many people to become angry with my comment. This was said after my quote "I wouldn't want to touch my ball to spot it after it rolled over Tiger Woods' or anyone's potentially diseased spittle. But then, I play golf with mature adults." but there were many other people who agreed with what I had to say like this "Who cares. He can't help it he was acting on instinct". The act of commenting on this story was pretty interesting the amount of people who commented on the story was pretty amazing. It is pretty interesting as well to see the different opinions people had on this issue and the other issues on commented on. Everyone has a different opinion and when you are on the web there are limitless amounts of comments left on each major story. The major difference between commenting on ESPN and Facebook, is that the ESPN conversation seems to keep going. I commented on a friend's Facebook status update that had to do with the Tiger Woods spitting incident, but more people just left a one line statement than an actual comment that would keep the conversation going. When I commented on other things on my Facebook, or my friends, it seemed that the conversation died pretty quickly. When your online different people keep logging on and joining the conversation. I would much rather go onto the internet than try to keep commenting on Facebook posts.
